Beginning with Summer 2010, Emerging America: Teaching American History participants must complete a full course of study in order to receive stipends and PDPs/graduate credit. Participants may choose two of four summer colloquia, and must complete written assignments. (Contact the director to arrange makeup hours, if unable to attend the July 1 program kickoff.)
Summer 2010 participants may choose between 62.5 PDPs or 3 graduate credits from Fitchburg State College. (Participants must pay $255 registration fee to Fitchburg.)
Summer writing assignments:
- Brief research notes from four hours at a local archive
- Lesson plan using local primary sources
- Lesson for a community-based experience, such as developing a web site using local sources. see the Windows on History program on this website, a field trip, or a speakers series
