Blog Post: Mobilizing K-5 Social Studies in 2020–Get Involved!
Based on a comparison of responses from Massachusetts educators to 2017 and 2019 surveys, Emerging America Director, Rich Cairn reports improvement in the amount of time designated for social studies in grades K-5. However, a severe lack of good elementary social studies curriculum poses a daunting barrier for most K-5 teachers. Read the rest of the report at the Emerging America Blog.
Emerging America invites K-5 teachers (and schools) to pilot new materials in development by teacher-leaders, Laurie Risler and Kelley Brown–titled Histories Mysteries. Let us know your interest by completing the still-open short K-5 Curriculum survey. Pilot begins Feb. 5. Registration will open soon! Watch History eNews for an announcement.
